There are several types of galvanized coatings:
Zinc coating (Z): The prepared strip is immersed in a bath of molten alloy containing at least 99% zinc
Zinc Iron Coating (ZF): The strip is immersed in a molten zinc bath of at least 99% zinc and further annealed to form a zinc iron coating with an iron content of 8%-12%
Zinc-aluminum coating (ZA): The steel is dipped into a bath containing zinc and about 5% aluminum and a small amount of misch metal (metal mixture)
Aluminum Zinc Coating (AZ): Steel is immersed in a solution consisting of 55% aluminum and 1.6% silicon (the remainder being zinc)
Aluminum-Silicon Coating (AS): The steel is immersed in a bath of molten metal containing aluminum and 8%-11% silicon
